On 28 April, the state budget of Ukraine received $1.25 billion in grant funds from the United States of America, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has said.

The funds were provided through the World Bank's trust fund as part of the fourth additional financing for the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine (PEACE) Project.

This financial assistance makes it possible to finance priority social expenditures in full, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said. The money will be used to pay pension benefits, certain state social assistance programmes (payments to IDPs), salaries of healthcare workers and payments to State Emergency Service staff.

In March, the USA allocated another $1.25 billion in grants. And in February, the state budget of Ukraine received the second part of additional funding for $203 million under the UK's guarantee through a World Bank project.
