The Kherson civil military administration is preparing to evacuate civilians from the region in case of intensified shelling by Russian troops. The head of the administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, announced this on Telegram and ordered the identification of safe routes for evacuation.
Prokudin also instructed officials to determine temporary housing options, compile lists of people with limited mobility and large families, and prepare for the evacuation of the civilian population in advance.
"We have seen the enemy intensify shelling not only in Kherson Region but throughout Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of Ukrainian families, children, and civilians. I cannot allow Kherson residents to suffer. Therefore, we must be ready to evacuate the population in case of massive shelling of the region," Prokudin said.
On 28 April, Russian troops fired 33 times at Kherson Region, launching 177 shells. Bilozerka in Kherson Region was targeted by Russian occupying forces. On 27 April, Russian troops fired 61 times at Kherson Region, using heavy artillery, drones, and aircraft to launch 356 shells. Two people were killed and three were injured by the shelling.
