A search and rescue operation has been completed in Uman, Cherkasy Region, at the site of a Russian missile attack, the Interior Ministry has said.

A Russian strike on a high-rise building killed 23 people: 22 were recovered from the rubble, and another person died in hospital. Among the dead are six children: three boys (1.5, 16 and 17 years old) and three girls (8, 11 and 14 years old).

Two more women are missing. The missile strike also injured nine people. Medics accompanied by police ensured prompt hospitalisation of the victims.

On the morning of 28 April, Russia launched another massive missile attack on civilian facilities and residential buildings in Uman, Dnipro and the town of Ukrayinka in Kyiv Region.

According to the State Emergency Service, as of 6 a.m. on 29 April, 23 people were reported dead in Uman. Eighteen people were injured and 17 others were rescued.
