Overnight, Ukrainian defenders shot down 21 of 26 Russian attack drones. They were launched from the northern (Bryansk region) and southern (east coast of the Sea of Azov) directions.
To repel the attack, the defenders used anti-aircraft missile weapons, aircraft and mobile fire groups in the areas of responsibility of the Centre, East and South air commands, the Air Force has said on Telegram.
"The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defence of other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, destroyed 21 attack UAVs," it said.
Air defences were activated, in particular, in Kyiv. According to the local military administration, there were no hits or injuries.
This was the third massive Russian air attack in six days. Each time, the Russians attack Ukrainians at night. In the previous two attacks - on the night of 28 April and 1 May - they used not only UAVs but missiles.
