President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the Ukrainian military on Infantry Day and presented state awards and honorary insignia.
"Today, Ukraine celebrates the bravery and strength of infantry soldiers - what gives our state the most significant result, the invincibility of our defence. It is a great honour for me to congratulate you on Infantry Day, and it is an honour for me to represent our soldiers, such as our infantrymen, in our relations with the world every day - exemplary Ukrainian bravery, exemplary Ukrainian resilience," the president said.
He noted that the state is standing strong because Ukrainian infantrymen are fighting with dignity - together with all Ukrainian defence and security forces.
"It is not easy for the world to get rid of long-standing illusions about Russia. The evil state has done a lot to make the world believe that this evil is insurmountable. But Ukrainians, Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian infantrymen demonstrate how this seemingly invincible evil is being overcome," the president said.
