Ukraine says Russia carried out 36 missile attacks, 23 air strikes over day

The Ukrainian aviation carried out six strikes on areas where Russian personnel and military equipment were concentrated over the past day.

Over the day, Russia has launched 36 missile attacks and 23 air strikes, as well as about 30 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.

The Russians are focusing their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka sectors. Over the day, 17 combat engagements have taken place there, with the hottest battles taking place for Bakhmut and Maryinka.

Meanwhile, the Defence Forces aviation conducted six strikes on the areas where Russian troops and military equipment were concentrated over the last day. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 21 cruise missiles and seven reconnaissance UAVs of various types. Missile and artillery units struck an area where weapons and military equipment were concentrated, an ammunition depot, three artillery units at a firing position, an anti-aircraft missile system, seven electronic warfare stations and a radar station of the invaders.

On the night of 18 May, the Russian army fired 30 sea-, air- and ground-launched missiles at Ukraine. During the air raid, the Russians struck Khmelnytskyy Region. An infrastructure facility in Khmelnytskyy District was hit. In Kyiv Region, houses were damaged by falling debris from downed missiles.
