The state concern Ukroboronprom and the German company Rheinmetall have signed a strategic partnership agreement.
According to the press service of Ukroboronprom, the purpose of the agreement is to strengthen Ukraine's defence industry and its national security by establishing a joint venture.
Ukroboronprom noted that the joint venture is scheduled to start operating in mid-July 2023.
The first step in the cooperation will be the maintenance and repair of armoured vehicles transferred to Ukraine.
It is expected that later, Ukrainian and German specialists will begin to jointly develop advanced models of weapons and military equipment on the basis of the joint venture.
Earlier, the media reported that Rheinmetall had set up a joint venture with Ukraine's Ukroboronprom to manufacture and repair tanks in Ukraine.
