Key parliamentary factions of the Bundestag reached a consensus on the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

This was reported by the head of the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the PA NATO Yehor Chernev with reference to sources in the Bundestag.

These missiles have a range of 500 kilometers and are capable of covering all occupied territories, including the southern coast of Crimea.

"For a long time, we worked with German parliamentarians to form a support group, and now, finally, the ice has broken," Chernev noted.

"We are waiting for an official decision," he added.

A few days ago, the Defence Minister of Germany Boris Pistorius once again stated that there will be no supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, because it is not a "main priority".

In May, it became known that Ukraine requested the supply of Taurus cruise missiles from Germany. Subsequently, a member of the Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union, Roderich Kiesewetter, spoke in favor of supplying these missiles. According to him, Taurus with a range of up to 500 kilometers would allow Ukraine to "strike the Russian military infrastructure far behind the front line."
