In the east of Ukraine, the main direction of the enemy's offensive remains the Kupyansk. The Russians are trying to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops and go directly to Kupyansk.
For several days Russian troops has been conducting unsuccessful offensives in the Sinkivka of the Kharkiv Region. In general, the occupiers have formed an offensive group in the Kupyansk direction and are unsuccessfully trying to move forward, said Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar.
"The situation is difficult, but controlled. Ukrainian defence forces are courageously holding back the enemy's offensive," she said.
The intensity of combat battles and enemy shelling is high. There are several position changes per day in some directions.
In the Bakhmut direction, the defenders continue to conduct offensive actions on the southern flank around Bakhmut and gain a foothold on the achieved boundaries. The enemy constantly attacks in order to restore the lost positions on the outskirts of Klishchiyivka and in the Zaitseve district.
In the south, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. According to Malyar, Ukrainians had partial success in the direction of Urozhayne, Priyutne and Verbove. Now they gain a foothold at the achieved lines.
"The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive in the Novokalynove, Syeverne, Novomykhaylivka and Staromayorske districts. Ukrainians do not leave the Russians a chance to advance and get back lost positions," she said.
Malyar noted that the Ukrainian Defence Forces have significantly reduced the offensive and defensive potential of Russian troops these days and are not allowing them to implement his plans.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russians carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Novokalynove, Avdiyivka, Syeverne, Maryinka, Novomykhaylivka, and Staromayorske; had significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment.
