The Defence Ministry has approved Ukrainian-made SkyKnight drones for use in the armed forces.
According to its Telegram post, the SkyKnight 2 drone manufacturer lodged an application when the accelerated procedure for obtaining approval for operation began.
The Defence Ministry accompanied the company in the process of preparing the necessary documentation.
"SkyKnight 2 is quite fast, powerful and quiet at the same time. It is very easy to operate. If an operator already knows how to pilot DJI, Autel, and stabilised platforms, he or she will master SkyKnight 2 very quickly, approximately in a week," the ministry said. "When the operator identifies the target to be hit, the drone will fly to it automatically, as it will be controlled by the on-board computer."
Even if communication is lost due to jamming, the drone will still reach the target set by the operator.
Earlier, Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 32 samples of domestically produced unmanned aerial systems of various types had been accepted into operation. These include reconnaissance, strike UAVs, kamikaze drones and loitering munitions.
