An explosion occurred at a meeting of the heads of the Russia-installed police in Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhya Region, on 18 August, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, which released a video of the drone hitting the target.

"At approximately 09.23, a powerful explosion occurred in the office of the police chief. As a result, the head of the city department, Col Pavel Chesanov of the Russian Interior Ministry (Chuvash Republic), his deputy for operational work, the head of the investigation department, the head of the duty unit and the heads of a number of units were injured. Immediately after the explosion, they were rushed to a local hospital," the intelligence service said.

After a quick examination of the wounded, three ambulances were urgently called from occupied Melitopol. Afterwards, the wounded were planned to be evacuated by military helicopters to Russia.

According to the intelligence service, Russians used the building as barracks as well as the "police" department. As a result of the explosion, the building sustained significant damage, and the fire spread to 3-5 floors.

Currently, the area of the explosion is blocked, and civilians' ability to move around Enerhodar has been restricted. The internet connection in the city has been cut off.

The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that, according to preliminary data, the building also has a torture chamber where civilian prisoners are kept.
