Two planes are on fire at the Soltsy airbase in Russia's Novgorod Region due to a drone strike, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have said on Telegram.

It is noted that Tu-class aircraft are based at this airfield.

The Russian Defence Ministry said that one aircraft, presumably a Tu-22M3, which carries Kh-22 missiles, was damaged. The armed forces reported damage to at least two Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile carrier bombers.

According to the latest reports, about 10 Tu-22M3 aircraft were stationed at the airfield. A fire broke out at the aircraft parking area.
