President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the First Lady are on a working visit to Sweden.

According to the Telegram post, he is planning to meet Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Speaker Andreas Norlen, and heads of parliamentary parties.

"Extensive Ukrainian-Swedish negotiations. I would like to personally thank Sweden for supporting our struggle for freedom and independence," the president said.

He added that the main task now is to "strengthen Ukrainian soldiers on the ground and in the sky, develop bilateral cooperation, in particular in the defence industry, Ukraine's European integration and common security in the Euro-Atlantic area. We fully support Sweden on its path to NATO."

"We are confident that together we will guarantee a lasting peace in the entire Baltic-Black Sea-Azov region," Zelenskyy said.

On 17 August, the Swedish parliament approved a new aid package for Ukraine, which will include ammunition, spare parts, trucks and demining equipment.
