The F-16 fighter jet has already been to Ukraine and landed on our airfields, Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, told the news telethon on 19 August, as quoted by the State Border Service.
"We are now busy preparing runways. By the time Ukraine gets F-16s, we will have been able to station them," Oleshchuk added.
Earlier, he said that pilots who graduated in 2016 and 2023 had flown to the UK and Sweden for training.
He added that several Ukrainian pilots will be able to learn to fly the F-16 in 4 months.
