At least one aircraft was damaged by a drone attack on the Russian Shaykovka airfield in Kaluga Region, according to a representative of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, LIGA.net reported.
"At least one aircraft was damaged. As in most cases, the Russian regime is trying to hide the true extent of losses and damage," he said.
According to Yusov, this was done by people who carried out the task in close coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate.
"There are people who, in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate, have completed their tasks. They came from central Russia, did their job and successfully returned home. As in many other cases, the Main Intelligence Directorate continues to perform tasks, including on the territory of the aggressor state," he explained.
The Shaykovka airfield is used to base Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft used by the Russian Federation in the war. In particular, on 15 August, the Russians fired four Kh-22 cruise missiles at Ukraine from Shaykovka.
