President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers it important to integrate veterans into social life with dignity after returning from war. He said this in a speech via video link at the Veterans' Forum in Kyiv.

"We have created a new Ukrainian policy, a policy of heroes, a policy of respect and creation of opportunities for all our soldiers, for all our veterans, thanks to whom Ukraine is vibrant," Zelenskyy said.

"Today at the forum government officials will present packages of solutions that are of top priority. So that our veterans can integrate into social life with dignity after returning from the war," the president added.

According to him, "people always come back from war different than they went to it. That is why it is especially difficult to build a life after everything you have gone through, after everything you have experienced, after all the losses you have seen. But you are heroes, Ukraine needs you. Each and every one of you who is fighting for Ukraine, who has brought Ukraine's victories closer and closer."

"No lost generations, no lost opportunities. And, of course, not to waste time, the time of life. These are the basic principles in the policy of heroes," the President noted.

Zelenskyy emphasised that "everything in the policy of heroes should be designed to help people live. Any official who does not understand this will be replaced. Any regulation that delays time should be simplified."

"Everything in our country should somehow become an assistant to a veteran, just as it is today," he added.
