Two Tu-22M3 strategic bombers were completely destroyed as a result of attacks on the Soltsy airfield in Novgorod Region and the Shaykovka airfield in Kaluga Region, Ukrayinska Pravda has reported, citing intelligence sources.

"Two Tu-22M3 bombers were completely destroyed, and two more aircraft were slightly damaged," the message reads.

It is noted that the airfields were attacked by quadcopters launched from the territory of Russia.

The Shaykovka airfield is used to station Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft used by Russia in the war against Ukraine. In particular, on 15 August, Russia fired four Kh-22 cruise missiles at Ukraine from Shaykovka.

Two planes went on fire at the Soltsy airbase due to a drone strike recently.
