Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said that the United States is prepared to support training on F-16 fighter jets for Ukrainian pilots, reports CNN.
"We are prepared to support a training effort here in the continental United States if capacity is reached in Europe," Ryder said.
He added that the Pentagon could not provide any specific information in terms of which bases that training could occur at.
"Certainly if the decision is made to do that, and we move forward, we’ll be sure to provide you with updates on that," the US Defence Department spokesman assured.
Denmark has started training the first group of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. In addition, Greece will also take part in training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s.
