The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Olha Pishchanska.
This decision was voted for by 306 MPs out of the minimum required 226.
Pishchanska was appointed head of the AMCU on 16 July, 2020. She had held this position for more than three years (3 years, 1 month and 20 days).
During her speech in parliament, Pishchanska said that "the AMCU has fulfilled its function of reform" and believes that "it is time to free the space for others."
Previously, Pishchanska was the first deputy head of the AMCU, the state commissioner. Prior to that, she was a procurement manager at Arcelor Mittal Kryvyy Rih. She headed the procurement department when the current head of the AMCU, Yuriy Terentyev, was the general counsel of the company.
This morning, Pishchanska submitted her resignation to the Parliament. The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, said that Pavlo Kyrylenko, who is the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, would become the head of the AMCU.
Pishchanska may become the new head of the SPFU instead of Rustem Umerov, who is to be appointed Defence Minister.
