The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption is suspending the status of international war sponsors with regard to five Greek shipping companies and the Hungarian OTP Bank.
The companies from Greece include Dynacom Tankers Management (DTM), Delta Tankers LTD, Thenamaris Ships Management Inc., Minerva Marine, and TMC Tankers LTD.
This decision was made following negotiations between representatives of the Agency, companies and governments of Hungary and Greece on the termination of cooperation with Russia.
The NAPC noted that from now on, the companies will have a temporarily suspended status on the War and Sanctions portal in the International Sponsors of War section. Their further removal from the list will depend on the fulfilment of conditions.
The NAPC expressed hope that this decision would lead to Hungary unblocking €500 million of necessary EU military aid for Ukraine, and would also eliminate the possibility of Greece blocking a future EU sanctions package aimed at reducing Russia's ability to continue the war.
"The Agency is always open to cooperation with international business and is ready to hold consultations on the steps necessary for de-listing," the NAPC stressed.
Earlier, the Agency added Hungarian OTP Bank to the list of international sponsors of war. This decision was made due to the position of the bank's management to continue its activities in Russia and its de facto recognition of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics.
