The Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has confirmed the destruction of a Russian aircraft factory that produced Kh-59 missiles. The strike took place on 1 October at the Smolensk Aviation Plant.

The attack disrupted the process of producing Kh-59 missiles of various modifications. This was reported in the GUR's Telegram.

"According to confirmed data, three of the four drones hit the target, causing significant damage to the production facilities

of the military enterprise of the aggressor state," the department said.

They added that the Kh-59 missile (in the Kh-59MK2 modification) of the air-to-surface class with a range of up to 280 km is one of the missiles most often used by the Russian Aerospace Forces to fire at military and civilian targets in Ukraine. Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson regions suffer the most from such weapons.
