Naftogaz Group has issued a statement saying the company does not collect personal data of its customers online.
Naftogaz was responding to allegations that the company is allegedly starting to collect personal data online from 22 October to resolve issues related to the recalculation and refund of gas delivery/distribution fees.
"We urge you to be careful and cautious: under no circumstances should you share your data with third parties... We do not collect any personal information of our customers via the Internet... We would like to emphasise that as of now, overpayment refund applications are accepted exclusively at the Customer Service Centres," the company said.
So far, Naftogaz is only developing an online mechanism to enable customers to apply for the recalculation and refund of gas delivery/distribution fees.
In the summer, pro-Russian Telegram channels shared a fake Naftogaz bill. In it, people were allegedly offered a discount on payments if they handed over collaborators or draft evaders.
In the first eight months of 2023, 59,605 criminal proceedings on fraud were opened in Ukraine.
