The German defence group Rheinmetall and the Ukrainian Defence Industry (Ukroboronprom) have formed a joint venture, PM Denys Shmyhal announced during the German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin.
The new company will maintain and repair equipment supplied by partners to Ukraine. This enterprise will also localise the production of leading models of Rheinmetall AG equipment.
Rheinmetall - Ukrainian Defence Industry LLC was registered on 18 October.
Shmyhal noted that the establishment of the joint venture is a landmark event that brings cooperation between the countries to a new level and will allow them to build the arsenal of the free world together.
