Information about 21 Ukrainians killed and one missing in action in Israel as a result of the 7 October attack by Hamas militants has been confirmed, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko reports.
According to him, three Ukrainian citizens - two children and an adult - were killed in the Gaza Strip. Six Ukrainians, including three children, sustained injuries of varying severity. The injured are being provided with medical assistance.
A total of 357 Ukrainians, including 208 women, have expressed a desire to evacuate from Gaza. Ukrainian diplomatic missions are in constant contact with them.
At the same time, the Rafah crossing point on the border between Gaza and Egypt is currently closed, and there is no way to leave. This applies not only to Ukrainian citizens, but also to citizens of other countries.
"Ukrainian foreign ministry, together with its partners, is working with the parties involved to obtain permission to evacuate people as quickly as possible," Nikolenko said.
