Russian troops suffered significant losses in the Yahidne-Kupyansk-Vuzlovyy area, so they stopped active operations and are currently regrouping, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy has said.
"The enemy continues to conduct offensive actions in the area of Kupyansk forest, Pershotravneve and Orlyanske with the forces of the 6th Combined Arms and 1st Tank Armies. It is stepping up its efforts to capture the dominant heights, seize Synkivka and create favourable conditions for the capture of Kupyansk," said Syrskyy.
He noted that over the past week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces neutralised 583 Russian troops in the Kupiansk sector. Of these, 220 were killed, 358 were wounded and five were taken prisoner.
