Members of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), who are fighting on the side of Ukraine, were involved in the assassination of FSB Lt-Col Sergei Shatyy in Russia's Bryansk Region, hromadske has reported, citing a source in the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.
Earlier, a number of Russian Telegram channels reported that unknown persons had shot a vehicle of the Border Guard Service in Bryansk Region and that a lieutenant colonel of the FSB had been killed as a result.
In particular, Baza reported that the attack on the UAZ Patriot car took place on the outskirts of the village of Ulitsa in Bryansk Region, where unidentified persons opened fire with automatic weapons yesterday, at around 16:00 local time. As a result, the deputy head of the logistics department, Lt-Col Sergei Shatyy, was killed on the spot. The attackers fled.
Last night, the RVC published a post stating that its "sabotage and reconnaissance group successfully ambushed an enemy vehicle in Bryansk Region".
