Defence Minister Rustem Umerov discussed new reforms in the defence sector and plans for bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United States with US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Bridget Brink.
"I was pleased to meet US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink. I briefed the Ambassador on current and planned reforms in the defence sector, including the launch of transparent procurement procedures and the localisation of defence production," Umerov said on Facebook.
In addition, Umerov and Brink discussed in detail plans for bilateral cooperation and the areas and ways of further US assistance to Ukraine.
Umerov appealed to EU defence ministers to speed up assistance to Ukraine.
