German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv today, Interfax-Ukraine has reported quoting Deutsche Welle.
The German Defence Ministry said the purpose of the visit was to reaffirm its support for Ukraine. He will discuss the training of Ukrainian soldiers and military assistance to Kyiv.
In the afternoon, Pistorius is scheduled to hold talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In addition to the political talks, the visit will include a wreath-laying ceremony at Independence Square, where pro-European protests, later known as Euromaidan, began 10 years ago.
Pistorius will also visit a Ukrainian military training centre.
