A Vinnytsya resident has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with property confiscation for treason, including aiding the enemy in preparing missile attacks on the city. The Office of the Prosecutor-General disclosed this information, highlighting that the individual collected and provided critical data about military and civilian infrastructure to the adversary.
During the court proceedings, prosecutors successfully demonstrated that the accused knowingly collaborated with the Russian FSB, actively aiding in orchestrating missile attacks on the regional center. The evidence showcased the procurement and transmission of detailed information encompassing addresses, operational schedules, and security measures of essential facilities.
Between May and June 2023, the convict surveilled a defense enterprise, meticulously noting checkpoint locations and monitoring military equipment movements. Utilizing specialized software, the individual probed Wi-Fi networks and mobile phone towers near strategic military sites in Vinnytsya.
The acquired data, along with photographic proof and electronic maps, was relayed to the supervisor, who acknowledged receipt and confirmed their use for subversive activities against Ukraine.
Law enforcers detained the individual while monitoring the defense enterprise, securing significant evidence of the crime. The accused remained in custody until the court issued its verdict, during which the defendant maintained a plea of not guilty.
