On 24 November, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) imposed a preventive measure against the owner of a private developer company in the form of detention with an alternative of UAH 100 million bail, the HACC press service reports.

The preventive measure is valid until 19 January 2024. In case of bail, the suspect is subject to procedural obligations:

  • to report to the detective, prosecutors, investigating judge or court at every call and request;
  • not to leave the city of Kyiv and Boryspil district of Kyiv Region without the permission of the investigator (detective), prosecutor or court;
  • notify the detective, prosecutor or court of any changes in their place of residence and place of work;
  • refrain from communicating with persons specified in the decision;
  • to deposit their passport for travelling abroad and other documents entitling them to leave and enter Ukraine to State Migration Service;
  • wear an electronic control device.

The suspect's actions are classified under Part 4 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Offer, promise or giving of an unlawful benefit to an official).

The NABU and the SAPO served suspicion notices to a businessman and the head of a state-owned enterprise of offering a bribe to Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to the investigation, the owner of a private company offered the head of the Ministry of Regional Development real estate in newly built buildings with a total area of over 5,200 sq.m and an estimated value of over UAH 170 million. For his part, Kubrakov had to uphold the agreements concluded with the company on the construction of a residential complex on the Ministry's land plot.
