More than $100 million was raised in one day at the international Grain from Ukraine forum, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said at a joint press conference with Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, Swiss President Alain Berset and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonyte.

The funds will be used to purchase Ukrainian grain for the countries that need it most.

"Last year, the initiative raised $180 million, and today we already have more than $100 million. This is the support of other countries and the support of Ukrainian exports. This is a concrete result, and I think there will be much more. I hope that this figure will be doubled by the end of the year," Zelenskyy said.

The Grain from Ukraine International Summit was held in Kyiv today. Its participants discussed countering Russian aggression, sanctions against Russia, protecting the "grain corridor", strengthening Ukraine's air defence for these purposes, and countering the sale of grain to Russia.

In particular, Ukraine will receive warships to escort civilian vessels through the grain corridor.
