During the night massive attack with Shahed drones, Russia changed the colour and equipment of the UAVs. Despite the similarity to new jet drones, these were not the upgraded Shahed-238s recently presented by Iran, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat has told the news telethon.
"Now we see that they used carbon, which is a radar-absorbing material, and black colour. This will complicate the work of the air defence, in particular visual targeting by mobile fire groups," Ihnat noted.
He added that the Russians are constantly upgrading their Shahed. But this will not prevent the Ukrainian Defence Forces from destroying them.
He stressed that despite the similarity to the new upgraded Shahed-238, the Russians used Shahed-131/136 at night.
On the night of 25 November, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with a record number of Shahed-131/136 drones. The Ukrainian Air Defence Forces managed to destroy 74 of the 75 enemy drones.
