Russia is continuing its attempts to recapture Kupyansk. In this area, Russians have intensified air strikes and UAV attacks, Lt-Col Volodymyr Fityo, head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command, told the telethon.
"The Russian occupiers have not abandoned their intentions to reach the city of Kupyansk and want to re-occupy it. Eight air strikes and 758 artillery attacks were registered over the last day. The enemy has intensified the use of kamikaze and FPV drones as it tries to reach the outskirts of Synkivka to advance to Kupyansk," Fityo said.
Ukrainian defenders killed 158 Russian troops and destroyed 39 pieces of enemy equipment, including two tanks, two armoured personnel carriers and eight artillery systems.
"The occupiers have intensified their activity and are deploying their assault groups in the Kupyansk sector to carry out 'meat attacks'. However, the Russians have no strategic success in this area," added Fityo.
