President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address senators as part of a secret briefing on the war in Ukraine. He will speak via a secure video link, Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said.
Schumer said that Zelensky was invited to speak by the US presidential administration, and that the senator himself had passed on the invitation. The New York Democrat said that the invitation was made so that the Ukrainian president could directly inform all senators about "what is at stake".
"Tonight, I am announcing that the Biden admin invited Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to address Senators via secure video as part of our classified briefing tomorrow so we can hear directly from him precisely what is at stake in the vote on the national security supplemental bill," he said.
