Law enforcers are investigating the legality of the trip abroad by Vitaliy Bort, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the banned OPFL party.

The Prosecutor General's Office announced the start of the pre-trial investigation without naming the MP, but the case file shows that it is MP Bort.

"On 27 October 2023, the Prosecutor General registered the information in the Unified register and initiated a pre-trial investigation into the fact of committing forgery by a Member of Parliament of Ukraine of the IX convocation (Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.

According to the investigation, the MP travelled abroad twice, allegedly for the purpose of a business trip to the European Union in April and July 2023.

Currently, investigative actions are underway in the criminal proceedings to establish the facts of the MP's stay abroad in different countries beyond the period of his business trips.
