On the morning of 5 December, the Russian army opened fire on the centre of Kherson again. The head of the RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, posted a message about the shelling on Telegram at 9:00 am.
According to preliminary data, two people were killed and another person was wounded. Prokudin provided this information at 9:47.
Over the past day, the enemy fired 89 times at the region, launching 490 shells from mortars, artillery, Hrad, ATGM, tanks, UAVs and aircraft, including one missile strike. One civilian was killed and five others were injured as a result of the Russian attacks. The enemy fired 22 shells at Kherson.
"Russian military hit residential areas of the Region's settlements; a cinema, a preschool, the territory of an enterprise and an animal shelter in Kherson; an enterprise in Beryslav district," Prokudin listed the consequences of yesterday's attacks.
The Interior Minister clarified that Kherson came under fire at around 23:20 yesterday. The enemy attacked with missiles.
- The Russian army attacks civilians in Kherson Region every day. In order to protect people and push the enemy back as much as possible, the Defence Forces have consolidated their positions on some parts of the left bank of the Kherson Region. The enemy is trying to drive the defenders out of their positions, while continuing to attack the free part of the region.
- In November, Kherson celebrated a year of liberation from the Russian occupiers. During this year, the enemy attacked the regional centre and other settlements almost every day, destroying what is left.
