On the night of 25 December, the national energy company Ukrenergo provided emergency assistance at the request of the Polish power system operator PSE, having received an excess of electricity from it, the company's press service has said.

"Last night, at the request of the Polish operator PSE, emergency assistance to the total volume of 3,050 MWh was activated for the Polish power system. This is not a commercial import, but a type of emergency assistance. The Polish power grid had a surplus of electricity on the night of the holiday and asked neighbouring countries to help with its consumption. Ukraine thus received additional electricity," it said.

The company also noted that now the electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants of all types is enough to ensure the power supply of all legal entities and household consumers.

"Due to warming, the daily maximum consumption on 24 December was 1% lower than on the previous Sunday, 17 December. At the same time, Ukrenergo calls on Ukrainians to save energy, as consumption is seasonally high," the company said in a statement.
