The state budget of Ukraine has received USD 1.34 billion as the sixth additional financing under the World Bank's Public Expenditure Support for Enhanced Accountability in Ukraine (PEACE in Ukraine) project. This was reported by the press service of the Financial Ministry.

"The funds will be used to partially compensate for the expenditures of the state budget of Ukraine not related to the security and defence sector, in particular for pension payments and payments to employees of the State Emergency Service (SES)," the statement said.

The financing consists of a $1.086 billion loan from the World Bank, which came through the Trust Fund for the Provision of Necessary Credit Support to Ukraine (ADVANCE Ukraine) under the guarantee of the Japanese government.

The sixth additional financing of the PEACE in Ukraine project also includes a grant component:

  • $190 million from Norway through the Ukraine Recovery, Trust Fund (URTF);
  • $50 million from the United States government;
  • $20 million from the Government of Switzerland.
