Russians did no seize Maryinka in Donetsk Region as fighting for the town is underway, the spokesman for the press centre of the Tavriya Defence Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, has told the news telethon, commenting on the Russian Defence Ministry's claims about its full seizure.

"Fighting for Maryinka is ongoing. Currently, our servicemen are within the administrative borders of Maryinka, but the town has been razed to the ground. However, it is wrong to speak about the complete seizure of Maryinka," Shtupun said.

In Avdiyivka, Ukrainian soldiers are holding their ground and inflicting considerable losses on the Russians.

"There is always a threat of encirclement and breakthrough. But we are pulling up reserves, we are reformatting, we are inflicting losses on the enemy every day. They are losing 300-400 people dead and wounded and a lot of military equipment," the spokesman added.

According to him, the Russians are pulling up reserves, including equipment. "But it is not of the same quality as before. Russians are pulling up personnel on a regular basis.
