Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy has supported the exclusion of the term "partially fit" from the draft law on mobilisation. He said this on the air of the news telethon.
Zaluzhnyy stressed that today the use of disability levels is not relevant. Whether a man is able for military service or not is determined by the Military Qualification Commission, not by the disability group.
In his opinion, the draft law should retain two concepts: able for military service or unable. The concept of "partially fit" should be excluded.
"We respect people who are in a civilian environment, and we want the army to be joined by people who are able to fight. But everything will be decided by the Military Qualification Commission," Zaluzhnyy explained.
He also stressed that the issue of deferrals from mobilisation and who will be drafted by the state is not the responsibility of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
"The main thing for me is that people come to the army and are able to perform their tasks. Who will have a deferment or who will not have a deferment, who will be drafted by the state - today I believe that this is not my competence," Zaluzhnyy said.
According to him, there are central executive authorities that determine who should be drafted.
"I need people, I need ammunition and I need weapons to continue fighting," Zaluzhnyy added.
