The Russian army has changed the tactics of its drone attacks on Ukraine. It is trying to send Shaheds through residential areas so that Ukrainian air defence cannot destroy the drones, Natalya Humenyuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Defence Forces South, has told the news telethon.
"We are noticing a change in the enemy's tactics: they are really trying to map complex trajectories for drones to exhaust the air defence system, complicate our work, and inflict maximum damage," she said.
Humenyuk noted that this tactic was observed last night during an attack on Odesa Region. The Shaheds were moving right through residential areas, "where stationary air defence systems cannot be deployed in principle".
