The Avdiyivka coke plant is currently under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the contact line in the area is virtually unchanged. All attempts by the Russian military to wedge themselves between the coke plant and the village of Stepove have failed, Dmytro Lazutkin, head of the public relations service of the 47th separate mechanised brigade, said on the air of the news telethon, according to Suspilne.
"All Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups remain near the fence of the plant. The contact line is not actually moving. Russian troops continue to attack Avdiyivka, including from the north, there is quite intense artillery shelling, infantry attacks that are repelled by the Ukrainian military do not stop," Lazutkin said.
Russian troops continue to aim to capture Avdiyivka in Donetsk Region, and are attacking from three directions to surround the town from the south, north and east.
