"However, within the framework of this operation, they have planned the following: to create a situation in which doubt will be cast not so much on the president as on decision-making in general in Ukraine after 21 and 20 May," he said.
After that, the Russians expect that confusion and duplicity will infect the army, and they will be able to inflict a military defeat in eastern Ukraine in the first half of June.
"They are not so much interested in changing the political leadership as in inflicting military defeat," he said.
