Today, on 4 April, at 10:06 a.m., as a result of Russian shelling, the external overhead line of the OHL-330kV Zaporizhzhya TPP-Ferrosplavna was disconnected, through which the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP received power from the Ukrainian power system to meet its own needs, the national nuclear power generating company Energoatom reports.

Currently, Europe's largest nuclear power plant is connected to the Ukrainian power grid only by the 750kV overhead line Dniprovska, which has recently been restored by Ukrainian power engineers.

This once again threatens to cause an emergency at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, as if this last line of communication with the national grid is disconnected, the plant will be on the verge of another blackout, which is a serious violation of the plant's safe operation.

"Energoatom notes that the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant should immediately come under the full control of Ukraine, its legitimate operator, Energoatom, and Russia should withdraw its military and military equipment from the plant.

The company reminded that since the beginning of the Russian occupation, Zaporizhzhya NPP has already experienced eight full blackouts and one partial blackout with the launch of emergency diesel generators and safety systems. Failure of the pipeline could lead to an emergency.
