The Commander of the Land Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Pavlyuk, has called on Ukrainians to join the Armed Forces, as the army is short of people.
According to Pavlyuk's post on his Facebook page, Russia is trying to undermine the rear, sowing hostility, panic and distrust in the army. Instead, the military situation, although difficult, is now much more predictable and controlled than it was at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
"...Our army is the strongest and most professional in Europe and the world. We have Western weapons at our disposal. We know and understand the enemy's plans. We have talented and experienced commanders. Two years ago, we were defending Kyiv, and now we are hitting military targets a thousand kilometres away from the contact line with our own military technology. But no matter how much help we receive, no matter how many weapons we have, we lack people! Equipment does not move by itself, weapons do not fire by itself, drones do not fly by themselves. The units have to be renewed!" said Pavlyuk.
He also commented on the problem with the image of military registration and enlistment offices and military service evasion.
"Russian propagandists have made many people believe that mobilisation is not about defending their country from the aggressor, but about injustice and violation of rights... How did society allow the military to become afraid of them and allow themselves to be insulted? Today, most of the employees of the TRC are yesterday's warriors, whom everyone admired and was proud of. What happened?" the commander said in his post.
Pavlyuk added that work is underway to improve the TRC system and called it a lie that when a person receives a call-up or comes to the military commissariat to update their data, they are immediately taken to storm enemy positions.
"There is a procedure defined by law: passing a military medical commission, as well as additional medical examinations, if there are grounds for this. Everyone who is found fit for service, without exception, is sent to training centres. Basic general military training lasts a month. This is in line with the standards of NATO partner countries (4 weeks)," the Armed Forces Commander stressed.
According to Pavlyuk, "the more Ukrainians find the courage to join the Armed Forces, the less chances Russia will have to implement its bloodthirsty plans. And the sooner Ukrainian cities will return to normal, safe life."
"...The fate of the country, the fate of our nation is at stake. Russia will not leave anyone alone: neither those who have gone into hiding nor those who have betrayed Ukraine. Now is a historic moment that fate has given us: either we will defend and preserve the state, or we will disappear as a nation! Support our defenders with both word and deed. Join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Stand up for your family, your home, your country, your future. Our strength is in unity! There is no other option," the commander summed up.
