President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that, in accordance with agreements with Swiss President Viola Amherd, the first Peace Summit would be held on 15-16 June in Burgenstock, near the city of Lucerne in Switzerland.
The head of state wrote about this on X.
He noted that heads of state and government from all continents were invited and expected to participate. The Summit will be a platform for discussing ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. All the states invited to the summit have demonstrated their commitment to these principles, the President stressed.
"I am sure that every peace-loving country is interested in taking part in the Summit, because it is important not only for Ukraine. This is about the global role of each country, as well as genuine respect for international law and peaceful coexistence around the world," Zelenskyy wrote.
The Head of State noted that it was about common rules enshrined in the UN Charter that protect all countries from attack and violence.
"So, our common global duty is to protect them with real actions, not just words. This is what will be discussed at the first Peace Summit in Switzerland," Zelenskyy concluded.
For his part, the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, added that more than 80 countries have so far supported the Ukrainian peace formula. The West and the Global South together.
He noted that Russia was making efforts to disrupt the summit. "We know about all the enemy's plans. They will not succeed," Yermak wrote.
The head of the Presidential Office also noted that if the whole world unites around the Ukrainian Peace Formula, Putin will no longer be able to hide behind his lies to continue the war. And the world will get a platform and a tool for conflict resolution.
