In an interview with Foreign Policy, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Russian ballistic missile attacks have damaged half of Ukraine's energy system, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, he noted that the approval of US aid has definitely boosted the morale of the people of Ukraine, but if the package had included a Patriot battery immediately after the law was passed, the boost would have been even stronger.

The foreign minister explained that Ukrainians suffer the most from Russian missile attacks, whose ballistic missiles have become a real disaster. Lately, Russia has been using them mainly to destroy Ukraine's energy system, the minister stressed.

‘We are holding on because we have learnt a lot. We are resilient. We know what the stakes are. But for your viewers to understand, half of our energy system is damaged, and we still need to run the country, fight a war and rally support from the whole world,’ Kuleba said.

Recently, DTEK Group CEO Dmytro Sakharuk said that restoration of DTEK's power plants would cost $350 million. Ukraine has lost 8 gigawatts of generation, and DTEK has damaged five of its six thermal power plants.
