At night, the occupiers attacked energy facilities in Sumy Region from the air. A high-voltage facility was among the damaged civilian infrastructure.
This is mentioned in a statement by the Sumy Regional Military Administration and Ukrenergo.
"The enemy launched an air strike on energy facilities in Sumy Region. All necessary services are working on the ground. Restoration work is underway," the statement said.

As the Sumy Regional Military Administration later clarified, as a result of the Russian attack, settlements in Sumy, Romny and Okhtyrka districts were left without electricity."Thanks to the coordinated and professional actions of emergency services and power engineers, power supply was restored in the affected areas and partially in the city of Sumy at night. The work is ongoing," the statement said.
An emergency commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies was also convened, which decided to restore the operation of critical infrastructure facilities using emergency power supplies.
In addition, the company has deployed resilience centres in the region and is ready to provide assistance.
Ukrenergo added that the damaged civilian infrastructure includes a high-voltage facility. Emergency repair work began immediately after the alarm was cancelled. Repair teams are working to restore power supply to consumers in stages.
On the night of 6 May, the Defence Forces in Sumy Region destroyed 12 out of 13 shaheds launched by the occupiers. The occupiers launched the drones from the Kursk Region of Russia.
