The Defence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada is considering two models of economic reservation.

The first involves paying a tax on salaries of at least 35,000 hryvnias, and the second involves quota booking by industry. Discussions are currently underway, the head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamiya, said on the sidelines of the third floor of the parliament, LB.ua reports.

"There are two models (Ed.: economic reservation) that are being discussed. On the one hand, we understand that we cannot spend a single dollar of the huge aid on military salaries... On the other hand, we want more military and higher salaries for them... On the other hand, the economy must work for this money to appear," he said.

Therefore, according to him, the committee took two booking models as a basis.

"The first model is based on the minimum wage that must be paid. So that taxes are paid from it. The salary is UAH 35 thousand. It should be enough to pay the minimum wage for one soldier. And another model is when you have a quota from the industry you work in. For example, media. And you have 10% of the people you can book. Who are these people? This will be determined by the manager, and you decide for yourself. And you pay the minimum monthly salary of a soldier for such an employee. Now the minimum is 20 thousand hryvnias. That is, you pay 20,000 hryvnias per month for each person booked. And this is in addition to taxes," he explained.

Arakhamia added that the issue of booking was studied at meetings of the parliamentary defence committee in the context of international experience.

"We studied it at the committee, as it was done during wars in other countries... Experience shows that in the end there are many people who are in favour and many people who are against. Therefore, it is necessary somewhere in the middle. I think that a model will emerge anyway. Because in this discussion, a model will emerge that causes the least outrage. Although no matter what model you choose, there will be outrage," he said.
