Ukrenergo has received a €45 million grant from the German government to restore and protect its energy infrastructure.
According to Ukrenergo's press service, the company's CEO Volodymyr Kudrytskyy and KfW's Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Veronica Garcia del Arco, together with the head of KfW's representative office in Ukraine and Moldova Lorenzo Gessner, signed a grant agreement with the German development bank KfW.
According to Kudrytskyy, these funds will be used to build a new high-voltage line that will increase the stability of Ukraine's connection to the European power system.
"Part of the funds will also be used to purchase high-voltage equipment and restore facilities in the central region after the Russian terrorist attacks," Kudrytskyy added.
According to Ukrenergo, in total, Ukrenergo has already attracted more than EUR 177 million in loans and grants from KfW to restore and develop the electricity transmission network.
